About Jordan Older

In 1994 Jordan Older became the first American soccer player to join a team in Brazil’s oldest top flight professional soccer league, the Campeonato Paulista Série A1, with União São João Esporte Clube. In the same period União São João also competed in the top flight of the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A.  Jordan Older repeated the accomplishment again in 1998 by making the first team squad of AA Portuguesa in the Campeonato Paulista Série A1.  It has been claimed by some in Brazil that Jordan Older is the only American in history to join a team in the Paulistão.  At the time the Campeonato Paulista Série A1 was considered the top professional league in Brazil, above the national league, and was the only Brazilian league that Pelé ever played in during his career.  In 1998 Jordan Older was invited to tryout at Santos FC by Santos FC technical director, former NY Cosmos head coach, and Pelé’s mentor and personal trainer, Julio Mazzei.  In 1994 Jordan Older was teammates with Neymar Sr. at Paulista FC in the Brazilian 2nd division (Campeonato Brasileiro Série B.)  Jordan Older is also one of the first Americans to play first team professional soccer in Europe and was the youngest American, at just 20 years old, playing first team soccer in Europe in 1993 as the starting center forward in the Swiss 5th division and early rounds of the Swiss Cup for FC Wängi,  making him one of the first and youngest Americans to start and play in the Swiss Cup.  Americans playing soccer in Europe during this time was very uncommon.  During the same time Jordan Older trained at Swiss 1st division club FC Wil. Jordan Older has played soccer in Europe since age 15 and has played professionally in Europe, Brazil, and the United States and has traveled the world playing at the professional level on 3 continents and in 8 countries.  Jordan Older was the first player in history to be digitally scanned in 3D by EA Sports for the popular FIFA video game and has starred in many international soccer television commercials for companies such as Intel, Phillips, Pioneer, Snickers, and Powerade.  In December of 1994 Jordan Older was invited to, and participated in, the full senior US National Team training camp in December of 1994, by US National Team and USA World Cup Team head coach Bora Milutinovic in Mission Viejo, California.
